Keywords: Direct Install Native Instruments NI update updates
Products: RECEPTOR 2 Hardware Receptor

*Please Note that installing NI update versions that are not supported by us, can cause serious hard drive damage. In general using the Direct Install update pages to install plugins they where not intended for can render your hard drive un-useable.

  1. Go to the Support Page for Native Instruments and click on updates & Drivers. You will have to log into your NI account to gain access to this page.
  2. Download the windows update installers for each plug-in you would like to update.

  3. Once downloaded, please open the Receptor Remote Control Application and launch Direct Install. In the search box up top, type in the plug-in you want to update. On the next page you should click on the link to install this plug-in on Receptor now. This will take you to the plugin page. Most plugins will have a button here that says install Latest Update. Click on this button and then click on Begin Installing Now. For plugins wihtout the latest update button you can just click straight to the Begin Installing now Button.

  4. A file browser will show up and ask you to locate and open the update that you got from the native instrument website. It may only allow you to open .zip files. Some web browser may automatically unzip these during the download, in which case you can use the file type selector to select all.

  5. The installer will be copied over to Receptor and run the same way it would on your home computer. Just follow the on screen instructions and choose all defualt options. At the end be sure to UNCHECK the option to continue with NI Service Center Setup.

Here are the Native Instruments updates that we have tested and support. Although these may not be the newest versions available, they have been known to run most efficiently and stabily on Receptor.
