Snapshots without interruption in sound
These are instructions that allow you to make a snapshot bank that will allow you to hold a sound on your keyboard while that patch changes, so that the next key you play will be the new sound with no interruption in between. Please familiarize yourself with standard snapshots before trying the advice in this article by Watching the Chapter 6: Receptor's Software Interface - Part 4 video.
- Start with a blank Multi on your Receptor mixer, and load up 2 or more instruments that you plan on using during your show.
- Make sure all instruments you have loaded are set to receive MIDI messages on the same MIDI channel.
- We'll set up the first patch in the snapshot bank to play instrument 1. Instead of bypassing the other receptor channels enter the MIDI setup dialog for each Receptor channel. Towards the bottom of the MIDI setup dialog is the velocity filter. Move the upper slider so that it resides at 0 for the channels that are silent on your patch. In other words patches that would normally be bypassed in a snapshot will instead use this special velocity setting
- Now continue to set-up and save the patches as you would any other snapshot, but DO NOT bypass any patches. Move the velocity filter to 0 for patches that you do not want to hear.
Setting the Velocity filter to zero causes tracks to filter out all MIDI ON messages while still receiving and processing MIDI OFF messages. Take note that using this method will require more CPU power out of your Receptor since unused tracks will not be bypassed.
